sydney
As I mentioned in the last post, I surprised Patrick with a trip to Sydney for his 30th birthday. We set off for 5 days, and ended up staying 7. The MLB was in town to open the 2014 season, and we had tickets to the LA Dodgers vs. Australia exhibition game because tickets were sold out for the actual opening games. However, on our second day in the city we met 2 of the owners, and the president/CEO of the Arizona Diamondbacks (while Pat was wearing his LA hat). We chatted, they gave us some beers, and an offer to join them for a game anytime we were in AZ. Later we found out they were able to get us tickets to the second game of the series. So we decided to take them up on the offer and extend our trip a few days. It was well worth it. Along with baseball, we did a lot of other Sydney-touristy things as well… the Rocks, the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, a cruise of the harbor, the aquarium, the zoo, the Royal Botanic Gardens, Bondi Beach. It was an awesome week, and what a way to turn 30, right hubby?!
